The UNMIK and EULEX have “shoved under the rug” 11 investigation files on embezzlements of part of the financial aid, coming from the total of three billion euros that was sent to Kosmet by the EU, so the European Parliament has asked for the report of the European Commission in Brussels, writes the Italian “Republica” paper, while citing the report of the European Parliament. The journal reports that they had the insight into those 11files, which are connected with the accusations for embezzlement in the Kosovo Power Corporation and the Pristina Airport. However, over the course of four year, the EULEX, being in charge of the judiciary in Kosmet, has not yielded any results in that regard, points the Roma daily, adding that there is a silent treatment in both the UN and the EU. The “Republica” reminds that in 2008 the European Parliament asked then Commissioner Ollie Rehn to cast light on those embezzlements, but he pointed to the “lack of will in the UN to cooperate with EU representatives in having insight into and supervision of the financial issues”.
