In presentation of the program and goals of the Serbian Government, Prime Minister designate has pointed in his exposé before the MPs of the Serbian Assembly that the main goals are economic survival and recovery of the country, European future of Serbia, solving the Kosmet issue, regional cooperation, battle against crime and corruption, improvement in health protection and education. Dacic has laid emphasis on the economic recuperation of the country, stressing that the economic policy, to be supported by the Prime Minister, will not put the burden of saving on the citizens, whose living standard has dropped drastically in the previous period, but rather on decreasing the state administration and expenses. According to him, the salaries and pensions will not be frozen and Serbia will proceed in talks with the IMF, and he has also announced the forming of the national council for economic recovery, which should gather most capable and successful experts that Serbia has in the fields of economy and finance. “Drastic social differences are undermining the stability of the state and society. Political authorities must be an instrument in people’s hands to realize the more just distribution of the social wealth”, underlined Dacic.
He has also said that the government will try to accelerate the European integrations, with maximum effort directed at obtaining the date for the commencement of the talks with the EU. The Prime Minister designate has emphasized that Serbia will not recognize the independence of Kosmet and assessed it is necessary to realize all the previously attained agreements in the technical dialog with Pristina. The dialog itself should be continued, but on the political level, with participation of highest state officials. “This important issue will be solved through peaceful means, with improved dialog and democratic solutions. The Serb population in the southern province must be protected from the extremists, along with the cultural heritage of the Serbian people, and the new government will be working on the strengthening of economy in the Serb environments in Kosmet. For the sake of preserving peace and safety in that part of Serbia, the government will be cooperating with all countries in Europe and the rest of the world”, Dacic stressed.
The Prime Minister designate has added that Serbia will pledge for the security, stability and good relations in the West Balkans, whishing to be a factor of peace and stability in the region, while all disputes will be solved peacefully and in the spirit of cooperation. “Our basic goal is establishing the rule of the law, so special emphasis will be put on the battle against crime and corruption, but also on taking anti-terrorist measures. In view of that, Serbia will be cooperating with all relevant international organizations”, he said.
Dacic has also announced to work on free health protection and education being available to everybody, because without the healthy and educated nation there are no prerequisites for the overall recuperation of Serbia.
