Finance and Economy Minister Mlađan Dinkić said Russia was the first country with whom Serbis is discussing potential strategic partnership for the Smederevo Iron Works, adding he expects results soon. He said that a high Serbian delegation, led by President Tomislav Nikolić and PM Ivica Dačić, were to visit Russia soon to discuss the promotion of bilateral economic cooperation. Production in the Smederevo Iron Works has been suspended until September 1 due to US STEEL’s withdrawal as a result of business losses. Serbia bought ownership of the factory for one dollar.
