Fire has broken out in many places in Serbia, e.g. on Mt Tara and in the vicinity of Prokuplje, Vlasotince and Gadzin Han, but for the time being there is no need for evacuation, it is said in the Interior Ministry’s Emergency Situations Sector. The most difficult situation is on Mt Tara, in western Serbia, where 1,300 hectares of forests have been struck by fire. The head of the Emergency Situations Sector, Predrag Marić, says that another Russian airplane has joined in the extinguishing of fire. We are to work intensively, using two helicopters and three planes, and 150 people experienced in dealing with such situations are to be included, said Marić.
