The World Music Museum has declared the trumpet gathering in Guca the biggest world music festival in 2012, and Goran Bregovic most significant artist in that form. The Museum has declared the Tinarien (Desert Blues) from Africa the best band of the year. President of the Serb World Congress Zojan Jovicic, who is involved in the work of the Musum, says that this institution has suggested the gathering in Guca to be included into UNESCO list of immaterial heritage, as the biggest world music festival in the world. A few years ago, museums of world music have started opening around the world, and last year Museum director Stefanie Kropf from Switzerland opened the Belgrade department, in recognition of Serbia’s contribution to the world music.
