The selector of the Serbian national basketball team, Dušan Ivković, currently working with the Greek Olympiakos team, has won a prestigious Alexander Gomelsky award., for best coach of the Euroleague in the 2011-2012 season. The award is to be presented to him in Barcelona, on July 6. The second largest number of votes has been won by another Serbian basketball coach, Željko Obradović. The Alexander Gomelsky is awarded in honour of a Russian basketball coach, one of the greatest in European history.
