Serbian foreign Minister and new President of the UN General Assembly Vuk Jeremic has confirmed that his team on the East River will include former heads of diplomacy from Italy and Spain, i.e. Franco Frattini and Miguel Angel Moratinos respectively. Jeremic has added that talks with several more distinguished officials are under way, including some influential names from Russia. The chairing of Serbia in the UN General Assembly will not go unnoticed, because we will have a strong team that will be visible in the world scene, he stated. Jeremic has firmly denied the assessment of certain circles in the West that he is biased in favor of Russia and that his presidency in New York could lead to divisions in the General Assembly. We will act in line with the interests of the world and we have to be peacemakers, stressed Jeremic, adding that the voting in the UN General Assembly represented a kind of a referendum regarding the foreign policy of Serbia, and it was victorious.
