German Ambassador to Serbia Wolfram Maas has stated that the new government is facing many tasks and difficult decisions, but he is optimistic about Serbia continuing the European integrations. I do not envy anybody who will take the responsibility for the decisions that are necessary, but I believe people will rationally assess what is best for the country. In my opinion, it is Serbia continuing its course toward the EU, Maas told TANJUG at the reception organized on the occasion of ending his turn. The conditions for the next step, i.e. marking the date to commence the negotiations, were clearly set in December last year by the EU Council, so anybody who takes over the responsibility knows exactly what they will be required to do, said Maas, adding that we first need to see how will the new government look like. Speaking of the Belgrade-Pristina negotiations, the ambassador has pointed to the progress in the dialog, but also that not all agreements have been implemented, nor have all the issues been addressed.
