
Today marks nine years since the assassination of former Prime Minister and Democratic Party leader Zoran Djindjic, who was killed in front of the Serbian Government's building on March 12, 2003. On this occasion, citizens, members of Djindjic's cabinet, Serbian President Boris Tadic, the wife of the late Prime Minister, Ruzica Djindjic, leaders of the Democratic Party and current ministers paid tribute to the assassinated Prime Minister at his grave in the Alley of the Greats at Belgrade's New Cemetery. Earlier, Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic and his cabinet members laid a wreath in the courtyard of the Government’s building, at the entrance where Djindjic was killed. In memory of the first democratic Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic, the finals of the competition "Speeches in honor of Zoran" were held in the Yugoslav Drama Theatre.
