Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic presented Serbia's Olympic athletes with the national flag that will be borne at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in London, while the Olympic Committee of Serbia presented the athletes with lucky charms in the shape of the Serbian Spruce. At the reception he hosted, Nikolic extended congratulations to the athletes inviting them to bring joy to Serbian citizens. Marko Lazic has more.

"Qualifying for the Olympics is a big success in itself, and I hope you will make us happy. I hope you will win medals in London and make us all proud. I congratulate you in advance on the chivalric behavior worthy of Olympians. We will celebrate your every success. I want to tell you that Serbia stands behind you. I do not want to burden you, but be aware that we will watch all your competitions. Good luck and long live Serbia!" the President told the Olympians.

Nikolic presented the national flag to the Chairman of the Serbia's Olympic Committee, Vlade Divac. Olympians were also given necklaces with pendants in the shape of the Serbian Spruce and the national coat of arms.

"We wanted to give every member of our Olympic team something that is specific to our country only, and that is a lucky charm with the Serbian Spruce. May it bring you luck and success and let it remind you of our people who will cheer for you while you compete. Good luck and do not forget – our strength lies within us," Divac said.

At the opening ceremony on July 27, the Serbian flag will be borne by tennis player Novak Djokovic.
