Serbia has potentials to achieve much better results in the tourist market, but it needs to invest more funds in infrastructure and human resources, it was assessed at a conference within the project Support to the Implementation of Serbia’s National Tourism Development Strategy, whihc was financed with one million euros by the EU. At the conference, held in Belgrade, it was concluded that Serbia had tourist potentials that have been largely unexplored, but that it also had to adapt more to tourist demands. The state secretary for tourism, Goran Petković, said that the project was aimed at having the tourist sector contribute more to the national economy. Tourist trends in Serbia are mostly related to business, urban and ethno tourism, but also to the development of tourism on the river Danube and in the mountains, said Petković.
