
The Serbian Progressive Party and the coalition gathered around the Socialist Party of Serbia have coordinated the political goals and tasks of the new Serbian Government and assessed it should be formed at soonest – in the next 15 days. Prime Minister designate Ivica Dacic has said after the talks with representatives of the Progressive Party that the personnel solutions have not been defined, but the initial suggestion is that the Government has 15 ministries. He said that the common goals of the parties that should comprise the new government are that Serbia should be a member of the EU and factor of stability in the region. Acting President of the Progressive Party Aleksandar Vucic has added that the government will have to be fierce in battling corruption and crime, as well as that one of the main goals is having a date set for the negotiation on the association with the EU. The leaders of the Socialist Party and the coalition of the Socialists, United Pensioners’ Party and the United Serbia have commenced today the talks in forming the government, after President Tomislav Nikolic appointed yesterday leader of the socialists Ivica Dacic the Prime Minister designate.
