Mountain Kukavica and Vucjanka canyon

The wooded mountain Kukavica, along with the canyon of the Vucjanka river, is a pearl of southern Serbia. Owing to vivid nature and valuable historical monuments, this destination is paradise for the nature lovers and the big tourist potential of Serbia.

ZLATAR

The mountain of Zlatar is located some 280km west of Belgrade, and only four kilometers from the town of Nova Varos, with the average altitude of 1,230m. Zlatar is part of the Starovlasko-Raske mountains, which stretch for 22 kilometers in length and 12 in width, between the rivers Lim, Uvac, Milesevka and Bistrica.

ZLATIBOR

In the southwest of Serbia, 230 km from Belgrade, mid-way to the Adriatic Sea, is the Zlatibor Mountian. It reminds of a wavy plateau with the average altitude of 1,000 meters and 25 km long and wide. It stands as the passage to the lower Dinaric mountains, and its highest summit at 1,496m is Tornik.

KOPAONIK

Kopaonik, the prestigious winter resort in central Serbia, also known as the “Silver mountain” or the "Mountain of the Sun", received the status of the international ski center three decades ago from the International Ski Federation. At that time, the state put some 12 thousand hectares under protection, declaring this mountain a national park.

FRUSKA GORA

The Fruska Gora is a national park in Serbia, whose rocks reach, by origin, in the distant history of the planet. The readers of a Belgrade daily have elected it as one of Serbian seven wonders of nature. Its 25 thousand hectares are a true treasury of flora and fauna, while owing to its 17 monasteries, this place is compared to the Holy Mount.

GOLIJA

A renowned Canadian company has assessed that Mt Golija in Serbia could become a world tourist brand. At the moment, Mt Golija is a natural park and one of 400 biosphere reserves in the world and a tourist resort which attracts many guests every year.

TARA

Aitken Clark, the late president of the EUROPARC Federation, described Mt Tara, in western Serbia, as paradise. An ancient Slavic legend has it that the mountain was named after Tar, a Slavic god that chose this natural beauty for his place of residence.

STARA PLANINA

The Stara Planina Mountain is a smaller part of the Carpathian massif that stretches along the border of Serbia and Bulgaria, which also features the highest peak in our country – Midzor, with 2,169 meters in altitude. Located on the Balkan Peninsula, this mountain is one of most diverse ecosystems in Europe, a true example of the harmony between untouched nature, interesting history and rich tradition.

DIVCIBARE

Testifying of early beginning of tourism in Divcibare is the Roman road, which ancient Romans used to take to come and rest in these areas. From the medieval times, there are writings mentioning Divcibare, the mountain that was bought from the Turks in the 19th century by Serbian Prince Milos, after feeling the benefits of its climate himself.
