PESTER AND UVAC RESERVE

Pester is the highest plateau in the Balkan Peninsula and one of the highest in Europe and is often nicknamed the Serbian Siberia. It is situated in southwestern Serbia. Sjenica is the coldest region and town in Serbia and is a synonym for low temperatures. Lately, Pester has been very popular among lovers of pristine nature and unexplored regions, including the nature reserve of Uvac.

DELIBLATO SANDS

The Deliblato sands is an area in southern Banat, between the Danube and western Carpathian slopes. It stretches in an elliptical shape from southeast to northwest, in the length of more than 350km and some 11km wide. This formation is of eolian origin, which is confirmed by sand layers and dunes that can go up to 200 meters of altitude.

Its eco-system is very specific, with climate characteristic of desert areas, i.e. big temperature oscillations between the day and the night, all of which makes it a unique place in the Old Continent.

SAR-PLANINA NATIONAL PARK

The Sar-Planina Mountain is a big central Balkan massif 85km long, with more than 100 peaks over 2,000m altitude , of which almost 30 reach even higher than 2,500m. This mountain stands as a border between Serbia and Macedonia, so in the Serbian part, dominating is the Bistre peak that has the altitude of 2,651m.

ZASAVICA NATURAL RESERVATION

The Serbian government proclaimed Zasavica special natural reserve of the first category, thus putting more than 1,800 hectares of that area under protection. Zasavica has also been included in the Convention of Wetlands of International Importance, known as the Ramsar Convention, which covers 1,790 areas spanning 145 million hectares of our planet.
