Pristina lies at the northeast fringe of the Kosovo valley, under the Grmija Mountain. It is situated at the intersection of important roads that lead from Serbia towards the southern and southeastern parts of Europe.
It is distanced 365km from Belgrade, and 136km from Nis. Pristina is the biggest city in Kosovo-Metohija and its economic and cultural center. Rather harsh winters and hot summers are resulting from its altitude of 585 meters.
